Dodge Charger: SAFETY TIPS / Transporting Passengers, Transporting Pets
Transporting Passengers
NEVER TRANSPORT PASSENGERS IN THE CARGO AREA.
WARNING!
- Do not leave children or animals inside parked vehicles in hot weather.
Interior heat build-up may cause serious injury or death.
- It is extremely dangerous to ride in a cargo area, inside or outside
of a vehicle. In a collision, people riding in these areas are more likely to
be seriously injured or killed.
- Do not allow people to ride in any area of your vehicle that is not
equipped with seats and seat belts.
- Be sure everyone in your vehicle is in a seat and using a seat belt
properly.
Transporting Pets
Air Bags deploying in the front seat could harm your pet. An unrestrained pet
will be thrown about and possibly injured, or injure a passenger during panic braking
or in a collision.
Pets should be restrained in the rear seat (if equipped) in pet harnesses or
pet carriers that are secured by seat belts.
Seat Belts
Inspect the seat belt system periodically, checking for cuts, frays, and loose
parts. Damaged parts must be replaced immediately. Do not disassemble or modify
the system...
Other information:
Proper lug nut/bolt torque is very important to ensure that the wheel is properly
mounted to the vehicle. Any time a wheel has been removed and reinstalled on the
vehicle, the lug nuts/ bolts should be torqued using a properly calibrated torque
wrench using a six sided (hex) deep wall socket...
Safety experts recommend that children ride rear-facing in the vehicle until
they are two years old or until they reach either the height or weight limit of
their rear-facing child restraint. Two types of child restraints can be used rear-facing:
infant carriers and convertible child seats...
